SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Eligibility for scholarship support is open to high school graduates who are either the children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews of former members of the 281st AHC (Intruders). To be eligible for a scholarship award, the applicant must be a direct line descendant of an Intruder. Scholarships are awarded on a one-semester basis, with a maximum of four years of college attendance. The deadline for scholarship applications is June 15 of each year.

An eligible individual may apply for scholarship support for attendance at an accredited college or an accredited technical school or training program.

Scholarship decisions are made without regard to association membership.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS AND AWARD PROCESS

The completed application must be submitted to the program Secretary no later than June 15 of the year of graduation. Each application is reviewed for eligibility and completeness by the Secretary who in turn sanitizes the application by removing the applicant's name and family connection. Each sanitized application is reviewed by a minimum of three members of the Scholarship Board who will rate each applicant based on their achievements, grade point average, and potential for success in higher education. Individuals selected for initial scholarship awards and those returning students approved for continued support, will be announced by the President of the Scholarship Board at the main event of the annual 281st AHC Association reunion.

Applicants awarded scholarships must submit their grades and proof of enrollment for a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester before payment for the next term can be processed. Grades and proof of enrollment must be received by the program Secretary no later than January 15 for the spring semester and June 15 for the fall semester. Awardees should confirm that the Secretary has received their grades and proof of enrollment.
