1st Aviation Brigade
The 281st AHC was assigned to the 1st Aviation Brigade shortly after arrival in RVN. The 1st Aviation Brigade provided Command and Control of all non-organic Army Aviation units in RVN to the United States Army Vietnam (USARV). Other Army Aviation units were organic or part of Divisions or Separate Brigades, such as the 1st Cavalry Division or the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
